Winter emergency supply list (Home & Car)
You do not need to buy expensive survival gear all at once. Gather these practical items before the first storm hits so your household and your car are ready if roads close or power goes out.
If you only do three things
- Keep a Car Winter Kit inside your vehicle (never leave your ice scraper inside the house where it can't help you in a parking lot).
- Stock at least 3 to 7 days of no-cook food, drinking water, flashlights, and a battery-powered Carbon Monoxide detector at home.
- Keep extra prescription medications, pet food, and Pet-Safe ice melt on hand before a storm watch is issued.
Car Trunk & Glovebox Winter Kit
Keep these in your car from October through April
Check off each item as you pack your trunk.
Home Winter Storm & Blackout Kit
Keep these in one easy-to-reach bin at home
Your progress is saved automatically on your device.
